Washing 101
The single most effective way to prevent food borne illness is for food service workers to wash their hands well, and wash them often!
Remember these 6 steps to proper hand washing:
Mechanical dishwashers use a variety of ways to sanitize (kill microorganisms) dishes.
Using high heat, using chemical sanitizers, or a combination of both.
In a commercial establishment, dishes must cleaned using the two or three sink method of dishwashing.
Remember these 6 steps to proper hand washing:
- Wet Hands with warm water
- Apply soap
- Lather for a minimum of 20 seconds
- Rinse hands with warm water
- Dry your hands using a paper towel
- Turn off the taps with paper towel
