Staple Food Report
The purpose of this assignment is to discover the staple foods of various cultures, and to learn about a variety of ethnic cuisines and customs. You will research and creatively (Prezi, Power Point etc) report the information you have learned so that you can enhance everyone’s understanding of other cultures.
You must include in your report at least one main course (entrée), one appetizer and one dessert recipe from the culture you have researched. Please ensure that you include as much information about the origin of the recipes as possible. Please reference all sources of information used to research your assignment.
You will prepare a written report outlining the staple foods and spices of your particular country. You will also include three questions a student should be able to answer about the main facts of your report after reading.

What are the particular agricultural and weather conditions in this region of the world?
What are the staple crops that are able to grow in these regions?
How are foods flavoured in this country? What particular herbs/spices/other seasonings are used?
What particular farming techniques are used to harvest the foods? Is modern technology available or are farmers manually working the land?
What methods of cooking are available to the people of that country? Are there unique pieces of equipment used to cook, serve or eat their food?
What particular rituals and customs are commonly associated with that culture?
What holiday and celebrations are common for the people of this country. What delicacies do they enjoy during these times?
